    Love entangles worry by some crazy tag,
    As sleep eludes my mental comfort zone.
    Fit to be tied–with pads, without a sag;
    In a tightly twine nightmare sheet, alone.

    Where is that boy?…many days gone by!
    Things could occur that bring bad news.
    Should I report my boy missing, but why?
    No news is good news…surfin’ the blues.

    Why worry about a boy on a man’s cycle?
    Afterall, he’s aware of who he is–in time.
    For years he has managed citizen traffic;
    Observing the strategically marked signs.

    Anyway, worry does seize my thoughts,
    Which won’t let go, ’til panic is upon me.
    Parenthood is marked with perilous love,
    Concerning my son’s state of well-being.

    My boy has risen to self-consciousness;
    He is a free man–by his own awareness.
    Parents are outside–of his central pride;
    Freely, unconscious…of a world so wide.

    Wherein, private chambers of his dominion,
    Abide self-persuasion of a true confession.
    He contains a secret session with inner self;
    Contented to forsake life–with nothing left.

    Parentage wonders selfless about off-spring;
    At least, for safe and mental future-to-wing.
    A parent’s sacrifice expects a son’s gratitude;
    And to be sure, he is safe within his attitude.
